A second table full of street party goers A second table full of street party goers. While lunch was on and immediately afterwards a big screen on the stage showed old films, including one with contemporary footage of the Battle of the Somme. Young Liam Shaw gave an excellent performance as the rabbi ... and the farmers were surprised when the rabbit appeared with his gun.  Young Liam Shaw gave an excellent performance as the rabbit. "Lilli Marlene" Then Lilli Marlene gave her all underneath the lamplight.  Several members thought she looked very much like Kath Kiely. 
And then local singer and performer Sandra Dee lead community singing of many of the good old favourites. Sandra Dee Our Chairman was, unfortunately, not able to be with us, so his usual role of raffle master was taken on by Reg Aston.  Reg Aston.

Next day they appeared in that august organ along with an excellent interview with Jim Speakman who reported on the day's events. 

The Club is grateful to everyone who helped to make such a good day of it, especially the committee members and all the helpers and performers mentioned here.  We are also indebted to the Holy Trinity Social Club for the use of their premises and to the local fish and chip shop for supplying what everyone agreed was an excellent repast.;
