Marj and Jim Hill And then it was time for our Chairman to conduct the raffle.  Many members had contributed an excellent assortment of prizes.These included, as usual, a basket of produce, this time a very large collection of vegetables.
These first class items are always brought along by John Elwell, who gets them from Blands Fruiterers, the Ripon fruit and veg wholesalers, to whom we are, as always, very much obliged for their fine produce. After that Bob Froggatt played carols and other Christmas songs while John George, George Philpot and Mrs. Froggatt and other members sang along.  Bob seems wonderfully skilful and always gives a great performance.  Bob Froggatt played carols and other Christmas songs

And then it was time for everyone to drift away into what was becoming a wet and miserable evening.  But they were, we hope, bouyed up by a cheerful day, full of chat and reminiscences.
