Gerald Hanrahan compered the proceedings ... |

... and started the ball rolling with a string of
anecdotes, jokes and stories about entertainment in
Bilston in the old days. His efforts were greatly
appreciated by all the members. He then introduced something that he said was a bit fishy ... |
... and so it was, with a song about Three Little Fishes. There were those who thought the little fishes were Alma, Kath and Megan - and that Barbara appeared somewhere too. Bilston had never seen anything quite like it. |

It then appeared that Elvis was about to enter the building ... |

... which he duly did and made it to the stage. |

So now we know where he has been all these years: in Bilston. (It's obvious when you think about it). |
Gerald asked members to give their own stories about entertainment in Bilston and Megan ran around with the microphone. George Phillpott told a couple of stories and Frank Taffano joined in with another. Lillian Richards seems to have her own memories. |

Our Vice-President told an improbable story which he swore was true. Olive and Peter Topliss look doubtful but Mr and Mrs Alan Mason seem to be taking it all in. |

And a founding father, Tom Larkin, was called upon to talk about the rock 'n' roll years in Bilston. Here he is, about to give a demonstration. |

And finally to the important matter of the draw for the raffle, compered by Alan, with the drawing of the winners organised by Elvis Fitzgerald-Plummer. Thus ended an excellent day. |
