Teapot

28th February 2007

AGM & Tea Party

Holy Trinity Social Club

Teapot

everyone was assembled for the AGM. And, very nearly on time, everyone was assembled for the AGM. just over 100 members attended In fact just over 100 members attended, which gave the Committee great satisfaction.  That's Ron McHale on the left.
The members seemed to enjoy the proceedings - which is a bit unusual for an AGM.  The front row inlcudes Mary Duggan, Peter Topliss and Olive Topliss. The front row inlcudes Mary Duggan, Peter Topliss and Olive Topliss. Our Chairman, Alan Bickley, gave his report on what was a very successful year. Alan Bickley
Barbara Presland This is not a waitress reading the menu but our Treasurer, Barbara Presland, reading her annual report. The Club seems to be on a sound financial footing.   Trevor Genge and Alma Darby Our President, Trevor Genge, then took over to give an amusing speech and then conduct the elections to the Committee.  It was agreed by all that the Committee had done very well and were welcome to get on with it. And that is not a waitress increasing the prices on the menu, but our Secretary, Alma Darby.
Frank Sharman This is not Maestro Frank Sharman conducting the orchestra - even he would have noticed that we haven't got one.  But he was giving a talk on the history of tea and tea drinking.

Several members were kind enough to say that they had not realised that anyone could talk for so long on such a simple subject.

Eric Woolley Then Eric Woolley wound up the proceedings by reading a very funny poem about the perils of picnics, precipices and tea drinking.

All in all it was a very good day out. Here endeth the report.
